Selma parents charged after babies test positive for meth

SELMA, NC (WTVD) -- The Johnston County Sheriff's Office has arrested two parents after two of their three children allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

Alison Louise Hill, 24, and Rufus Charles Futch, 50, both of Pine Level-Micro Road, Selma are charged with two counts each of misdemeanor child abuse.

The girls, aged 8 months and 18 months, were tested for meth after the Department of Social Services requested deputies help with an investigation at the family home. Johnston County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Tammy Aaron said the tests showed high levels of the illegal drug.

Both infants and a third child have been placed in protective custody.
