Sexual assault reported near NC State campus

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that happened near North Carolina State University late Friday night.

Police said just before midnight, a student reported being attacked off-campus in the 3900 block of Greenleaf Street. That's two blocks from the McKimmon Center.

The victim said she was leaving her home when a man in a ski mask jumped out of the bushes and attacked her. Authorities said the suspect then ran toward Gorman Street, according to the victim.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about the alleged assault to call the Raleigh Police Department.
