A curated list of the best things to do the weekend of August 14th - August 16th. You've worked hard this week-go have a little fun.

RAW Raleigh: Paramount

What exactly is RAW, you ask? Well, for starters, it's a super cool gathering of Raleigh's local, raw talent and fresh artists. These artists, embarking on their first steps onto the art stage, have been handpicked by the directors of Raw. Artists have an array of talents in areas such as film, fashion, music, visual art, hair & makeup artistry, and performance art. What should you expect when attending RAW? Drinks and good company paired with a fashion show, an independent film and an art gallery showcasing various artists. In order to attend, be sure to purchase a ticket! Catch A Concert in the Park

Pullen Park and Fred Fletcher Park are impressing this summer with a free series of concerts and entertainment. They're bringing artists off all genres to perform everything from local favorites to Japanese drumming. We'll be bringing a picnic to match the musical mood-wine and cheese for jazz night, BBQ and beer for the the bluesy Americana-yes please! Don't forget lawn chairs or a blanket for maximum comfort and minimal grass stains! Be sure to check the location of each concert! They alternate between Pullen Park and Fred Fletcher Park! Pickin' in the Plaza: Raleigh's Relaxed Bluegrass

Bring your blankets, chairs, and pets to downtown Raleigh and experience this incredible live and free bluegrass music series. The series is a collaboration between Pinecone (the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music) and the producers of Oak City 7, which brought over 30,000 people to downtown Raleigh's City Plaza in 2013. Pickin' in the Plaza looks to be the tamer version of Oak CIty 7, offering a nice opportunity for downtowners to relax and blow off some after-work steam. Enjoy beer from Aviator, Big Boss, Lonerider, Natty Greene's, Starr Hill, and White Street, as well as food trucks including Baguettaboutit, The Humble Pig, Sweetwater Ices, Tarheel Creamery, House of Swank, The Record Krate, Oak City Collective, Bordeaux Lane Studio, Chirba Chirba, Hibachi Xpress. Pro Tip: With a more relaxed atmosphere and a smaller crowd, this is a nice opportunity to take advantage of shorter food truck lines for trucks like Chirba Chirba. (Raleigh) (Photo via @rawartists)

Pop In for a Beer Float on a Friday

Pop in to Beer Durham for a Friday night of ice cream, beer, beer + ice cream (hallelujah!) and... Furniture! That's right, Beer Durham is co-hosting a Friday lounge pop-up with Move Loot, a new business in the Bull City that makes selling and buying used furniture a helluva lot easier. They'll be in charge of creating a perfect lounging space with sofas, chairs and ottomans for you to sit back and sip on craft brews, chomp on ice cream, or make a custom beer or spiked root beer floats! Movies by the Moonlight at Koka Booth

Bring a blanket or chair (and some beer/wine) as the spacious lawn at Booth Amphitheatre is transformed in to an outdoor movie theatre. A portion of the Movies By Moonlight proceeds will benefit the WakeMed Children's Hospital. The movie starts at dusk (usually around 8:30) and the gates open at 7pm. (Cary) Photo via @jgrant641

Chill Summer Tunes in Brightleaf

Summertime is best enjoyed plopped a chair outside and jamming to sweet, sweet tunes while eating something amazing. Brightleaf epitomizes all of that, giving you a killer warehouse ambience to kickback and listen to local acts while surrounded by top notch eateries (so no outside food or bev, please!) Get in touch with Durham's art scene and architecture with this outdoor summer concert series! (Durham) Photo via @browniesnstuff

Hardcover Bookmaking

We liked Indio Durham for all of their unique home dcor and jewelry, but now we're falling head over heels for them because of their sweet Summer Workshops! Erica Kane Fink, their resident expert in printmaking, mixed media, and all things crafty, is looking to help Durham dwellers engage their inner artist. All materials are included in these workshops-just bring your creativity and friends! To sign up and get more pricing info, check out the Indio Durham website(Durham) Photo via @ericakanefink

Join the Sunday Ramble in Midtown Park

Midtown Park in North Hills is wooing Raleighites with a sweet Sunday bluegrass series featuring some of the area's best pickers, plus BBQ, beer and a kids component too! For maximum comfort, bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers (but no outside alcohol) to lounge on the lawn. (Raleigh) Photo via @midtownevents
