Moneysaver: 'Repair My Ride' contest will give winner $1,000 in car repairs
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- When she heard about a contest to win $1,000 worth of car repairs, Kelsey Rogers was first to upload a video about why she needed to win.
"I could really use four new tires," Rogers said. "I could also use some filters. I think my air conditioner filters need to be replaced because sometimes my air conditioning goes out every now and then. Summer is coming up, so it could be a problem."
As a recent college graduate, car repairs aren't really in Rogers budget.
"It would be awesome," she said about winning. "I graduated college about two years ago. So, I've got a lot of bills to pay. I live by myself. So, I take care of all my expenses. So, I could definitely use $1,000."
That's exactly what Atlantic Tire and Service is giving away in their "Repair My Ride" contest.
"We're giving away $1,000 worth of repairs," explained Nancy Seymour who handles marketing for Atlantic Tire & Service. "It can be tires. It can be work under the hood."
To enter, you tape a short video explaining why you need the repairs then upload it to Atlantic Tire and Service's Facebook page.
Entries will be accepted until May 15 and the winner will be announced June 15.
"We have a rap one that's going on, that's really cute," Seymour said about the videos being submitted. "We have some with animals and pets. There's some kids too, which is really cute."
The winner of the contest will be the video that receives the most "likes" on Facebook.
