Christmas is just a few weeks away and the elves are busy helping Santa at the North Pole. Gifts are being made, snowmen are being built, and the elves are on the lookout for curious kids from the rooftops of Santa's Village. The website noradsanta.org lets you see it all from home.
NORAD, The North American Aerospace Defense Command, is usually tasked with monitoring objects in space, but this time of year they are busy tracking Santa.
2015 marks 60 years of watching Santa's yuletide journey. Each year on Christmas Eve, families from all over the world log on to catch a glimpse of Jolly Old Saint Nick.
It all started as a mistake in 1955, when an advertisement for Santa's hotline printed the wrong number. Soon, children began calling a phone number for the government agency instead.
Employees of NORAD were quickly charged with the task of tracking Santa Claus' journey.
Beginning at 2:01 a.m. December 24, Santa will gather his reindeer, board his sleigh, and ride off into the sky with magical gifts.
And you can watch as he travels around the globe and arrives in North Carolina just as the kids are fast asleep.
