Today's the day procrastination catches up with you

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Procrastinators are out in full force trying to snag those last minute Christmas gifts. The Streets at Southpoint in Durham is a popular place. There's been a steady stream of shoppers in and out of the mall. Earlier today, it wasn't hard to get a parking spot.

As the day went on, the crowds came out and the stores were packed. Several businesses are offering deep discounts to lure in the shoppers. One store even had a 60% off sale. Many of the people out shopping are dads with their children. They are trying to find the perfect gift for mom. Some shoppers say the crowds are not as bad they thought it would be today.

The one place that had an extra-long line is the line for Santa Claus. Kids, young and old were lined up to make sure he knew exactly what they wanted this Christmas.
