Each week, I'll write about the sport I love, college basketball:

Boston College landed some backcourt help when Eli Carter transferred from Florida. Carter, who began his college career at Rutgers, will be eligible right away.

Roy Williams officially received his contract extension at North Carolina. Congrats to the Hall of Famer.

Tom Izzo, who should be a lock for the Basketball Hall of Fame, received a contract extension. He will remain with the Spartans through at least 2020-21. Izzo is closing in on his 500th career victory.

TCU basketball is progressing under coach Trent Johnson. The Horned Frogs will have the luxury of playing in a renovated arena soon. The $72 million renovation is still in progress. There will be some excitement in Fort Worth, and it is about more than just football and baseball, baby!

San Diego State is scheduled to have freshman forward Zylan Cheatham this season. He redshirted last year due to a foot injury. I also love that the Aztecs will play San Diego at Petco Park, home of the Padres, this season (Dec. 5).
