Woman facing murder charges in Spring Lake shooting
SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Spring Lake woman faces murder charges in the shooting death of 30-year-old Carey Terelle McLean.
On July 19, authorities said McLean was fatally shot outside a home on D Street.
Detectives arrested 25-year-old Shante Nicole Ellis at her home early Wednesday morning and charged her with felony conspiracy in the murder.
Police said their investigation revealed Ellis got into an altercation with McLean hours before his death and allegedly conspired with an acquaintance, Jerri D. Davis, to kill him.
Detectives are asking for the public's help in locating Davis. He is wanted on first-degree murder charges and is considered armed and dangerous.
Meanwhile, Ellis is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond.
