Hurricane Erin devastated sea turtle nests in North Carolina as the storm moved up the coast.

It's been 11 years since a leatherback sea turtle laid a nest on Ocracoke Island until this week.
A large turtle was recently spotted swimming in a Northern California lake. Some believe it could be a species of snapping turtle, a rare find in the state.
