Arrest made after Raleigh pedestrian struck by car

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- UPDATE:

Police have charged 46-year-old Rodney Goode with felony hit and run and resisting arrest. He is accused of hitting a pedestrian on Garner Road at Rush Street.

Police say Goode was arrested a short time after the incident by a state trooper.

The victim was identified as Alejandra Lopez. She is expected to be OK.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

A pedestrian was hit by a car Thursday in Raleigh.

It happened near the intersection of Garner Road and Rush Street, south of downtown.

Raleigh police said the woman who was struck was seriously hurt but would not go into detail.

Police have detained the driver.

There's no word yet on the victim's condition or whether any charges have been filed.
