Smithfield issues water boiling advisory

JOHNSTON COUNTY Smithfield Public Works will be working on a water main just south of the White Swan Barbecue Restaurant, near Galilee Road to Country Club Road.

The boil water advisory is not mandated, but suggested.

Officials say the reason is after the water is shut off after 10 p.m., there will be water sitting in a pipe.

When water sits, it is mandated that it be tested. Testing results will be returned sometime Thursday.

So crews are suggesting people in the area boil their water until those test results are returned.
