Schools announce snow make up days

RALEIGH The Wake County school district released its plan for snow makeup days Wednesday, and those in year-round school will have to come in this Saturday.

Here's the plan:

Make-up days for the January 20 snow day will be:

  • Traditional: Monday, February 16
  • Year-Round: Saturday, January 24
  • Modified: Monday, March 9
  • Wake Early College: Thursday, April 9

Make-up days for the January 21 snow day will be:

  • Traditional: April 6
  • Year-Round: April 4
  • Modified: March 10
  • Wake Early College: May 26

The make up day for Durham Public Schools students on the TRADITIONAL calendar who were out Wednesday due to inclement weather will be Monday, February 16. Tuesday was a student vacation day for DPS students on the traditional calendar so they do not need a make-up day for that day.

The make up days for Durham Public Schools students on the YEAR-ROUND calendar who were out of school Tuesday and Wednesday due to inclement weather will be Monday, March 30 and Friday, June 5. This means the last day of school for year-round schools is now, obviously, Friday June 5.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools were closed Wednesday and that will be made up on Friday, February 27.

The make up dates for Johnston County Schools are April 16 and April 17, which is at the end of Spring Break week.

Make up exams for Johnston County high school students will be administered on Monday and Tuesday of next week (January 26 and January 27). Report cards will now go out on Wednesday, February 4.
