FAYETTEVILLE Army Specialist Joseph E. Putnam is assigned to C-Company, 2nd Battalion, 508 Parachute Infantry Battalion at Fort Bragg.

He was last seen around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Kangaroo gas station on Bragg Blvd.

Wednesday morning Putnam's mother, Angela Stanford, said she received a birthday call no parent ever wants to get.

"They just told me he was missing, and I'm in Arkansas going nuts because I don't know what to do," Stanford said. "I just hope they can find my son. I just want to know where he is."

Putnam is a 22-year-old white male, about 5' 10" and weighs about 150 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. Putnam also has a cow skull and the words "Cowboy Up" tattooed on his left shoulder.

He was last seen wearing a plain white T-shirt with Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots.
