According to the warrants, Lane was attempting to move out of the homuse and went into his grandmother's room. Mrs. Lane told deputies she heard a noise and woke up to find her grandson trying to retrieve a locked safe box, containing $50, from under her bed.
She said he was on the floor holding a 20-gauge shotgun and then fired at her. Lane then ran out of the room with the box and went to his vehicle that was parked outside.
Deputies say the teen's mother chased after him and demanded the keys to his truck before calling 911. When officers arrived at the scene, Lane was still at the house.
Lane made his first court appearance on Monday, where a judge placed him under a $400,000 bond.
The case has been continued to the end of the month.
Mrs. Lane is expected to be okay.
