Prosecutors say the NC State student took part in the break-in along with 18-year-old Christopher Proctor and 18-year-old Jacob Howard Lockerman. The three apparently met while students at The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
The judge lectured Steinbeck Monday, telling her - after looking at her grades - that she is too smart to be involved in a burglary.
Steinbeck - whose been in jail since her arrest - was given credit for three months time served.
