Authorities said a Mercury Cougar was speeding when it lost control, hit two utility poles, a parked car and overturned.
The driver, 37-year-old Walter Sonnie Brewer, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car.
Police said details about the accident are still under investigation.
