Fayetteville Mayor Tony Chavonne is demanding answers in the investigation of an apparent rape spree in his city.

He wants to know who knew what and when they knew it.

Police are warning women in the area to be careful. A man allegedly has raped at least seven women after breaking into their homes.

Investigators went public about the crimes Monday.

Chavonne wants to know why authorities didn't say anything earlier. The Mayor plans to discuss the issue in a special meeting, which is scheduled for next Tuesday.
