The accident happened while Trooper Maynard was investigating an earlier wreck on the interstate. Police say a car approached from the rear, lost control and struck the patrol vehicle, with Trooper Maynard inside.
EMT's responded to the crash, Trooper Maynard was evaluated, but refused to be transported to the hospital. Police say he was not injured in the crash.
The status of the driver of the car that hit the Trooper in unknown, but charges are pending.
No other vehicles were involved.
