John Deere bringing 90 jobs to Cary

CARY

The company said the move will add about 90 jobs.

Deere said "the action is being taken to better utilize resources and facilities within the turf and utility portion of John Deere's Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division," in a news release.

"This action helps John Deere continue as a strong employer in North Carolina as we focus on serving customers through improved use of company assets and finances," said John May, global vice president of Deere's turf and utility platform.

Most of the relocation will take place by October 1, 2010 although Deere said the Charlotte engineering center will not close entirely until 2011.
