Woman killed in Wake County crash

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says no charges will be filed in a wreck that killed a woman on NC-96 Monday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., 56-year-old Manda Salter was making a left turn out of the Sandy Pines subdivision at Rocking Chair Drive, which is near the Wake and Franklin county lines.

Saltar was driving a 2003 Honda Civic. Troopers say she did not see a pickup truck traveling northbound and pulled out in front of it. The truck did not have time to stop and hit Saltar's car on the driver's side.

She died at the scene.

According to the wife of the pickup truck driver, her husband suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was treated at the hospital for a leg injury.

Troopers say no one will be charged and everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
