A fisherman spotted the body floating in about six to eight feet of water near the Shinleaf campground and called 911. The area of the lake is located in Wake County off of Creedmoor Rd. and north of Highway 98.
Authorities say the victim is 28-year-old John Charles Holy of Raleigh and he was camping at Shinleaf.
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison says there does not appear to be any indication of foul play, but the cause of death has not been determined.
The case remains an open death investigation.
