Hundreds celebrate Habitat for Humanity of Wake

Hundreds of people gathered in Raleigh Thursday to celebrate the 26th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.Habitat Wake's Blueprint Breakfast kicked off early in the morning with ABC11 Eyewitness News' Amber Rupinta serving as MC of the event.

The annual event is one of the largest fundraisers for the organization that provides affordable home ownership for families.

This year, Habitat Wake is helping 30 families in Wake County build and own a home.

"In the 26 years, Habitat Wake has built 375 new homes and we're just starting to for this year planning to add some rehab homes, so we're adding that to our repertoire and also some exterior repairs," Executive Director of Habitat Wake Evin Campbell said.

Habitat for Humanity of Wake County is working on a budget to serve 45 families for the next fiscal year.
