Two charged with stealing gas

Two men are charged with using a hose to steal gasoline from underground tanks at a gas station in Carthage.

Sheriff Lane Carter says his office got a report of the theft from Mercy Grocery at 1487 Highway 15-501 Monday.

Deputies said they found a dark green truck on the highway north of Carthage with three 55-gallon tanks in the back. One tank was full. There was also hose and an electric pump.
