Men charged in burned bodies, double homicide case

SANFORD

Officers arrested 28-year-old Donald McLaughlin, Jr. of Sanford. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held in the Lee County Jail without bond.

The second suspect, 25-year-old Damier McSwain also of Sanford, is charged with one count of accessory after the fact. He was being held under a $250,000 bond.

Investigators say firefighters found the bodies of 30-year-old Christopher Plush and 21-year-old Anna Truelove in a burning sedan parked behind Warren Williams School early Sunday morning. They were both shot.

Investigators have not released a motive for the killings. It also is not known what relation the victims are to one another or if they knew the suspects.

The case remains under investigation.
