The advisory was issued Thursday morning after the city experienced a major break in one of their water lines.
Officials said crews are working to repair the break and restore water pressure.
Officials advise residents to vigorously boil all water used for human consumption for one minute (including water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice) or use bottled water.
The advisory remains in effect until test results confirm the absence of bacteria, usually within 24 hours of the repair.
