It happened earlier this week at the soccer complex north of I-540 in the 7700 block of Perry Creek Road.
"Families look out for each other's kids as if they're their own," said J.P Kenney, concerned soccer dad.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon. Police say a parent told them a light colored SUV or van headed the wrong-way stopped at one of the soccer fields several yards from an 11-year-old girl.
That's when a man stepped out of the vehicle and pulled down his pants.
"Tell your kids to never talk to strangers and just to be careful," Kenney said.
According to police, that's what the child did. The 11-year-old's reaction caught the attention of another adult, prompting the suspect to drive away.
The girl described the soccer field flasher vaguely as a heavy set man with dark hair and scruffy facial hair. He is in his 30s or 40s.
The Capital Area Soccer League notified their players' in an email the next day.
Now, parents are on the lookout.
"Especially since it's happened, I'm sure they're going to be more careful and keep an eye out for strange behavior," Kenney said.
