Officials investigate Wake Co. house fire

ZEBULON, N.C. Firefighters were called to the area of South Arendell Avenue and Perry Curtis Road just after 3 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, they found a two-story house with fire showing.

Crews from the Wendell, Hopkins, and Corinth-Holders fire departments were called in to assist.

Firefighters spent much of the night extinguishing the blaze, and dousing hot spots.

Investigators say the fire likely started in a back laundy room or deck area of the house, but because it was vacant, they are looking into whether the fire may be suspicious.

No one was hurt.
