A spokesperson with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Sunday that a man is dead following an argument that led to a stabbing.

Deputies said the fight began in the parking lot of the Roanoke Rapids VFW Post after a Halloween costume party.

The men involved left the parking lot, but later crossed paths again on Mills Street. A second fight broke out and Joshua Luke Green was stabbed twice in the side and cut on his neck.

Green was driven to Halifax Regional Medical Center by friends, but did not survive.

Deputies arrested 43-year-old Curtis Wayne Edwards and 23-year-old Kasey O'Neal Tanner - both of Roanoke rapids.

The men are charged with murder and are being held without bond.
