Durham student charged in paratrooper's death

GREENVILLE, N.C.

Nineteen-year-old Christopher Brauer of Durham turned himself in Wednesday.

Investigators said they believe Brauer stabbed 19-year-old Pfc. Keyonn Parkin, of Wichita, Kan., during an altercation at a Saturday night Halloween party.

Greenville police have also issued an arrest warrant for Pfc. Robert Michael Perry on a misdemeanor larceny charge. They say Perry was attending the party with Parkin and stole another guest's wallet, which led to the altercation in which Parkin was stabbed.
