Thousands of people were there to see it all.
The 124-year-old park is one of the oldest in the world.
It had been partially closed for renovations since 2009.
"It's a historic park, where people have come for generations," Mayor Charles Meeker said. "Lots of folks I've seen today say they came here when they were children. And it's not just Raleigh residents, it's people from all over the area. The carousel, the train, just the great feel of the place is back again."
The freshly polished amusement center will now be open seven days a week - from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
