Car crashes into Wake County store

ROLESVILLE, N.C.

Workers at the Dollar General on Main Street say they heard a loud crash and thought a shelf had fallen over. However, when they looked up they realized a car had crashed through the front of the store. Fortunately, no one was standing nearby when it happened.

Police are still investigating the accident, but the driver of the car that hit the store, 76-year-old Roosevelt Medlin, told ABC11 that it was his fault.

"I had my foot on the brake like that, and it kind of slipped off and hit the gas," said Medlin. "I put a lot of pressure on it and it slipped off somehow or another."

Medlin said he was not injured.

Police say Medlin will not be charged. However, he is responsible for damage to the store.
