The Fayetteville Police Department is asking for the public's help with four recent business break-ins.

In each case the primary target was cigarettes.

The break-ins occurred at the:

  • Family Fare Store (902 Hay Street) on March 13 at 4:25 a.m.
  • CVS Pharmacy (404 Ramsey Street) on March 17 at 4:30 a.m.
  • Sunoco (3740 Ramsey Street) on March 19 at 4:20 a.m.
  • Short Stop (3400 Ramsey Street) on March 25 at 2:15 a.m.

Detectives say it's a familiar pattern.

"They are occurring in the early morning hours between 2 and 4 o'clock in the morning, and we do know the method is forced entry into the stores," said Fayetteville Police Sgt. Gary Womble.

Police said the suspect(s) may be driving a gray mini-van.

Anyone having information about these cases is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
