Durham police are trying to locate Doris Reyes and her 18-month-old son, Kevin. Police believe they may have been abducted by Reyes' estranged husband, Jose Moran.

A statewide Amber Alert is currently in effect after officers were called to the Oaks at Northgate Apartments at 2112 Broad Street at 6:44 p.m. on Monday.

They were told that Reyes' estranged husband had come to her apartment and an argument ensued. When officers arrived, the apartment door was wide open and the apartment was empty.

They may be in a red Ford Econoline van with white stripes on the sides. The van has tinted side windows and a spare tire with a cover. The license plate is North Carolina RVW-3045.

Reyes, 27, is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 4 inches and 140 pounds. Moran is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
