Smithfield escapee captured in Raleigh

Authorities searching for a man who escaped from Johnson County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday night has been found at his mother's home in Raleigh.

Authorities say 18-year-old Tony Cole escaped in Smithfield late Wednesday night. He was handcuffed and wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Deputies say Cole took the jumpsuit off during the escape.

Early Thursday morning authorities used search dogs to look for Cole.

Cole was found has his mother's home in Raleigh and taken into custody by Wake County Sheriff's deputies just after 8 a.m. Friday.
