An SUV hit a 13-year-old boy back in November. He died two days later due to injuries.
According to the Fayetteville City Council, the NCDOT approved a petition to install a traffic light with a cross walk device at the Glen Canyon and Bonanza Drive intersection.
"I'm so happy for our children and our surrounding neighborhoods for all of your hard work in getting petitions signed [and] making calls to elected officials …" Fayetteville City Councilman D. J. Haire said.
Currently, council members are requesting funding for the project.
