D.A. will seek death penalty in Holiday case

ROCKY MOUNT

Holiday is accused of stabbing two women inside a Rocky Mount church last fall.

The husband of murder victim Debbie Kornegay got up close to see her accused killer in court Tuesday.

Holiday is charged with the October 2007 attack at Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.

Kornegay, 58, and Eve Beasley were preparing meals in the church's kitchen when police say Holiday went and asked for shelter. When the women tried to help him, he stabbed both of them and fled in one of their vehicles.

The preliminary hearing took about five minutes. Holiday's next appearance is not known at this time.
