Durham firefighters will not face charges

Several Durham County firefighters will not face charges for allegedly drinking alcohol before responding to two separate fires in December, according to the Durham Herald Sun.

Although the Durham County Sheriff's Office confirmed the Lebanon volunteer firefighters consumed alcohol, a lack of evidence will keep them from charging the firefighters.

North Carolina state law requires a blood-alcohol test to determine if a person has been drinking. No tests were given to the firefighters.

Several firefighters were disciplined for the December 15 incident. One was forced to step down.
