The last of the Second Brigade Combat Team, which was sent to /*Iraq*/ 15 months ago, returned to cheering friends and family at /*Pope Air Force Base*/ Friday afternoon.
They were in Iraq as part of a surge of American forces to quell insurgent violence.
Commander say the soldiers reduced violent attacks by 07 percent.
The unit's commanders are not home yet. Their plane broke down in Iceland. They are due back Saturday morning (March 22).
