Police continue search for mother's killer

RALEIGH

Friday morning officers set up a checkpoint at the WilcoHess /*gas station*/ on Trawick Road.

They were trying to see if anyone has information on the murder of 39-year-old Stephanie Anderson.

Police responded to an emergency alarm call from the store early Thursday morning. When they arrived, thy found Anderson shot to death.

Anderson's family says she was the store's manager and she usually opened up the store by herself in the morning.

Investigators think robbery was the motive.

"We need to find out who did this," Anderson's sister, Lachanda Powell, said. "I can't rest without knowing what happened to her and who did it because this is ridiculous cause she was like my best friend."

Police hope surveillance video from the store will provide some clues for their /*investigation*/.
