The fire was contained to the first floor bedroom of the apartment according to fire officials. No injuries were reported.
Tina Faye Edwards was arrested at the scene by Durham Police officers.
The apartment sustained smoke and water damage. Total monetary damages to the apartment are still being assessed by the department.
