Easley: NC not out of drought yet

Governor Easley warns North Carolina is not out of the drought just yet.

That is because of worsening drought conditions in the western part of the state.

He says residents should continue using water wisely since he says a hot dry summer is likely.

The federal drought map released Thursday shows 28 counties are in extreme drought, 18 are in severe drought and 21 are abnormally dry.

The good news is that 24 eastern counties are not in a drought at all.
