Scrap yard fined for safety violations

RALEIGH

A company in south Raleigh faces a fine for workplace safety violations, after live military ammo ended up there.

The blasts from last February forced people near Garner Road out of their homes.

Two workers were injured when about two dozen military explosives turned up at a scrap metals plant.

/*Raleigh Metals Processors*/ has agreed to pay a $3,500 fine for safety violations.
