Wake County declares state of emergency

RALEIGH

The declaration is in preparation of anticipated severe weather from Tropical Storm Hanna.

It also establishes the authority for inter-municipal and inter-county mutual aid, in the event that such aid is needed for response and recovery in Wake County.

Wake County recommends residents stay at home and off the roads. As the storm moves into the area, citizens are advised to stay in an interior space. The County anticipates strong thunderstorm conditions, typical to tropical storms, and does not expect widespread flooding at this time.
