The Johnston County Sheriff's Office says in the last 48 hours, 60 to 70 cars had contents removed by thieves in two neighborhoods.

According to sheriff's spokesperson Tammy Amaon, none of the vehicles were locked.

Property including CDs, iPods, weapons, purses, wallets and money were taken from unlocked vehicles in Carrington Place. The neighborhood is located off of Cornwallis Road.

On Tuesday night, items were also taken from about 20 unlocked vehicles located near Carrington Place.

There was no damage to the vehicles because they were not broken into.
