Man charged with sexually molesting girl

CUMBERLAND COUNTY James David Parris of Fayetteville turned himself into law enforcement officials Monday. Detectives say they began investigating Parris after a relative of the victim reported the alleged crime.

Parris allegedly arranged "cuddle time" with his victim and would touch her inappropriately. The offenses occurred on several occasions during June 2008.

Parris is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.

He is scheduled to make a first court appearance on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Detention Center courtroom.

Meanwhile, Detectives say more charges are pending against Parris.
