NC unemployment rate down

RALEIGH Most of the local unemployment rates for September have gone down from where they were in August, although many are higher than where they were a year ago.

In the Raleigh, Cary metro area, the local unemployment rate is 5.3 percent down from 5.4 percent.

In Durham the unemployment rate is 5.2 percent, also down from 5.4 percent.

In Rocky Mount were the jobless rates are some of the highest in the states, the unemployment numbers dropped in the month of September to 9.6 percent from 9.9 in august.
