Two trick-or-treaters struck in separate incidents

According to the Highway Patrol, a child was hit while trick-or-treating in Fayetteville Friday evening.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Shaw Road at Scrub Oak Court.

Eight-year-old Tyrell Ellison suffered a broken leg. He was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The driver of the car has not been charged.

Another child was struck just before 9 p.m. in Clayton.

It happened on Lombard Street. A child was transported to WakeMed. It is not known how serious the child's injuries are.
