Man dies after giving description of suspect vehicle

RALEIGH

According to the NC Highway Patrol, William Ross, 41, was struck by a a vehicle around 9:50 p.m. on October 31 after a vehicle pulled into his driveway located on Possum Track Road.

Ross told troopers a box truck or panel van pulled into his driveway and he approached the passenger side of the vehicle and knocked on the door in order to see what the person wanted.

The vehicle then struck Ross as it exited his driveway.

Ross was transported to WakeMed and died from his injuries on Nov. 1.

He described the vehicle to investigators as a white, box truck or panel van with the writing "The Perfect Store" on its side.

This vehicle was last seen traveling south on Possum Track Road towards Six Forks Road.

The Highway Patrol is asking anyone who witnessed or may have information that could help solve this case to contact the Wake County Highway Patrol District Office at 919-733-4400.
