According to initial reports, a small pickup truck rear-ended a recycling truck around 7:15 a.m.. It happened on Umstead Road about four miles from Riverside High School.
Umstead was temporarily closed between Cole Mill Road and Continental Dr.
The identity of the victim has not been released, but the person is reportedly an adult and not a student.
