Father charged in 3-year-old's death

Police say 26-year-old Eric Hinton's negligence allowed the little boy to get his hands on a loaded gun.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Wednesday at a house in the 1100 block of Ujamaa Drive.

Little Pharrell Hinton apparently pulled the trigger and was hit by the bullet.

His father is now charged with involuntary manslaughter and posession of a firearm by a felon.

Eric Hinton is being held on $100,000 bond.

The investigation continues.
